This album is awesome. I've listened to it 5 times already. I'm not sure I'd call it progressive metal, though. More like hard & heavy instrumental progressive rock that is metalish once in a while and fusionist at times.

Excellent instrumental progressive album. I agree with TechnicolorMan, some songs (like "Showtime" or "Come Get Some") tend more towards a heavy rock vibe with prog tones reminiscent of bands like Spock's Beard, while other tracks are definitely metal-oriented (Dogs of War for example).

All of the songs are awesome, & there is a great sense of momentum & focus throughout, flowing from start to finish. I detect very little if any filler or "just-for-the-sake-of-it" moments, even the "Fallout" interlude is perfectly placed & marks a definite shift to a darker tone for the album. Suffice to say, it keeps your attention throughout, which is challenging for any instrumental band to pull off. Fans of bands like "Long Distance Calling" should find much to enjoy here, although with the exception of "Resolution" this doesn't have the melancholy or introspective vibes L.D.C often tends to incorporate, it has a similar sense of focus & builds to comparably satisfying conclusions. Have a listen to the climax of "Starfish Fury" for an example of what I'm referring too specifically.

Also see "Bienvenue" & "Come Get Some" for some great jazz/funk fusion moments. Fans of bands like "Trioscapes" or "Acta Non Verba" will appreciate these additions. All in all, there's a little bit of something here for a wide audience, & I would definitely add Progressive Rock & Fusion to the listed Styles to help people find this hidden gem.

Thanks very much for the upload vitex! Respect!!  {#drinks.gif}
