In the spirit of the New Orleans music scene (and Seattle to an extent) being in and from multiple bands is just the way of life in Columbia, SC. Although this is pretty much unknown outside of SC, things have been that way for some time and if you wanted to hear it, you created it. That being said, GRÜZER was formed in December of 2013 by five fellas very familiar in the heavy scene around Columbia and the Carolinas. Hailing from such local/regional bands as Deathvalley Driver, Diavolo, Shaokahn and Mean Wiener/Evil Empire just to name a few, these guys are no strangers to the game. After talking about starting this project for many years, schedules finally freed up to allow the time to make it a reality.
GRÜZER intends on drawing from our collective experience and making the best music that the six of us can possibly make. We play what we want, when we want, and have zero concern with fitting into a certain label, genre or sub-genre. Just know that when you see or hear GRÜZER, you will be getting one of the best, heaviest bands in the Southeast!

GRÜZER was born in 2013 as a band by 6 guys who wanted to play balls out, heavy music that didn't fit into any of these sub-genre's that some people live and die by. One of those guys has since moved on to another project but the original 5 still hold true to that creed: loud, hard, and apologetically heavy but with a groove that grabs you. With GRÜZER, you'll find no fancy designer "rock" outfits, no masks, no eye makeup... what you see is what you get. No trends. The focus around these parts is on making the best music we can make and getting it out there. We play what we want, when we want, and have zero concern with fitting under a certain label.
November 04, 2014 saw the release of our first EP "Path of Buzzards" that was recorded at the world famous Jam Room Recording Studio by Jay Matheson. That initial release sold and reviewed very well and also landed on several top 20 lists for 2014 including the Ride With The Devil Music Blog and Metal Nation Radio among others!
August of 2015, we were invited to Black Dog Sound Recording Studio in Stone Mtn, GA to work with renowned producer Rick Beato and engineer Ken Lanyon for a day. It was a great experience and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves while there!
April 01, 2016 we will be releasing the follow up entitled "Let It Burn", another whopping dose of heaviness that we're super proud of considering we took the recording and engineering of this project on entirely by ourselves in a DIY fashion. Be on the lookout and keep your ears open to your favorite internet radio stations for that!
We've been on ice for about 5 mos working on Let It Burn but look out because we're gonna hit the ground running. Check the show calendar and stay tuned...there's always more to come!
