Thanks!
Every metalhead who’s been into the genre for long enough must keep a soft spot in his heart for a band he cannot rationally justify his love for, I guess. To me, Galadriel from Bratislava, Slovakia, has always held this special spot. No, sorry, but I’ll never admit it’s little more than another of those gothic-doom-melodeath metal acts, I just cannot. But I cannot, either, justify of the contrary. I cannot remember how, and where, I first stumbled upon them, some 15 years ago. I cannot justify why my signature on the metal-archives.com forum has been for ages a reference to a Galadriel song no one knows about. Of course, I could try some explanations in the line of – listen to The Mirror of Ages, it’s unique – Empire of Emptiness distillates its sheer brew of melancholy – whatever nonsense. And, even if I might be blind enough to make their early efforts more important than they truly are, I’m not as blind as not to acknowledge that, from 2004 on, they’ve indeed become just another of these gothic-doom-melodeath metal acts.
Was looking for Spanish Neo-Prog band Galadriel, but I'll gladly have a listen to this Slovak version. Thanks a lot Veggr
