СУПЕР!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These album covers and song titles (and themes) are hilarious! And the music is very good; haven't yet had the chance to listen to more than one album so I will report on the music later, but Chupacabra, Zombie Granny, Chtulu, UFO abduction :) hehe as I tag the albums I get a kick out of these images!
UPDATE: This group is excellent!!
More in a later post.
So I haven't updated with anything further on Izmoroz here,
however I have been listening to their whole discography repeatedly as I sometimes cannot get enough of them, and have not yet decided exactly what I want to say. Simply though, they are GREAT! During the day or when going to sleep, a good choice.
Something in their sound is very pleasing; part of it is the accompaniment (either guitar, keyboard or synth, I think it's keyboard) which reminds me of 8-bit computer music from the 80's which may sound cheesy but some of the coolest early electronig / computerized music was created in the 80's by the likes of Rob Hubbard (UK), The Judges (EU), and other early computer music and game programmers. Though I was never into games, that early computer music was awesome and inspiring (Skate or Die! is infamous in this genre, by Rob Hubbard if I recall, as well as music from games Hypaball, Traz, and Thing on a Spring,)
As an example of a seriously cool song in this Izmoroz discography, currently maybe my favorite, is on the 2019 album "Культ", it is track 08, "Лес выпускает зверей!" which is a superb case of awesome musical arrangement, tempo changes, and the friggin sweet melodic retro sounds of 8-bit accompaniment! Whatever it is, I simply love it.
Another fun song is KriegsMarine, which makes me chuckle when I hear the sonar beeps at the end too. And in the album Kosmoroz 3000, an intermezzo of Beethoven, fast and electric.
And, in the 2009 album, there's a hidden treat/tribute to the group "Europe", with a medley of "The Final Countdown" mixed into one of the tracks. Fantastic! I remember being glued in front of the Much Music in the 80's waiting to see this video over and over.
I like far more songs from these guys than I dislike; I don't think I actually dislike any, rather I just like some others more, and have many favorites in this discography. If I did not say earlier, I give Izmoroz 10 / 10
