Shitty group of posers who are basically Melechesh rejects.

  {#dance4.gif} {#smoke.gif} "Black Thrash Metal", kind of, from Israel.

Been trying for a week or more, to hear this discography from start to finish, and pay attention to each album. Hasn't yet happened, for various reasons; for one thing, it takes me some time to prepare & adjust the mental audio circuitry for this sort of input <-- strong middle-eastern influence & atmosphere in here --> which I've come to enjoy, but it takes a while for it to compute. And, this isn't an average hexagonal-shaped thrash-peg that fits nicely into a hexagonal-shaped thrash-peg hole, black or otherwise; there's thrashy in here, yes, and so much more; when it will cross lines into ~black metal, or ~death metal, or ~folk metal, is hard to say until you're there. Tracks are often long (or feel long, when they aren't), adventurous, epic scenes with complex choreography.

Yes, there are similarities to Melechesh, whom I also enjoy. But similarities is where the similarities end; this is quite not Melechesh.

Though I'm far from done listening to these musicians' albums repeatedly, I've come to one or two conclusions, or opinions: Arallu is talented & awesome; their music will transport you, if you let it. The guitar players, wow, great stuff, very riffy <-- cool, precise, a bit technical; the vocalist(s) do great screams, but also have ample sinisterness, and lots of energy; percussion & traditional sounds & instruments keep the music interesting, heavy, potent, thematic, and / or just somehow different.

At the moment, 2015 Geniewar is perhaps my favorite album - maybe only because it's playing right now, and I recognize two tracks which I think are fabulous - Powerslave and Givat Hatachmoshet. I also like 1999 and 2005 albums, but until I hear them again, I don't know why specifically - notes on my playlist are vague and cryptic, even to me.. {#read.gif}

Wherever you are Varg, thank you for having shared this with us.

By the way, everyone, there's a Slayer cover in here - Evil Has No Boundaries{#aggressive.gif}
