Leichenwetter is a music group from Iserlohn, founded in 1996, which sets the poems of late German poets in the style of Neue Deutsche Härte and Gothic Metal.
Leichenwetter was founded in 1996 by the two musicians Dawe and Numen, who wanted to set texts by deceased German poets in an unconventional way and bring them back to life.
Under pseudonyms such as "Dawe" (electric guitar) or "Numen" (vocals) they published the CD Nachtwerke in 1998 and were subsequently represented on several samplers.
In March 1999 other musicians completed their stage names "Rudiator" (keyboard until 2008), "Al-Yo-Shér" (guitar until 2003), "Sir Pent" (electric bass until 2000) and "Wahnfried" (drums until 2000 ) the cast of the group in order to allow corpse weather also stage appearances beyond studio recordings.
In 2001 followed an EP with the title Beauty is rough, whose percussion parts had already been recorded with the new drummer "RaweN". In the same year the album Urrechte was released, the guitarist “Al-Yo-Shér” also left the band during its publication process. At subsequent concerts, Leichenwetter appeared in a line-up without a second guitar.
The official discography began in 2005 with the record contract when they published Last Words on Metal Ax Records (distribution: Point Music), where the tradition of setting poems was continued and older song material was partly reissued.
