Blastanus - Discography (2009 - 2025)

Hard to describe this Finnish stuff! Aural assault of crazy disproportionalization...

I found the first album Odd, to be unappealing, but now that I've been listening Collapse, I'll return to Odd later and give it another chance. Collapse is quite good -- hard to use words and compose a meaningful sentence about this sort of music. Suffice it to say, I like it because it's really heavy, it contains crazy technical-sounding guitar toneage and scaleage, and I think it's more death metal than deathcore, though where that line actually is, cannot say. Track #10 is perhaps "technical thrashcore". Odd indeed.. Musicians' skill, not a problem.

It's heavy and enjoyable! But need to listen to it all a few times before coming up with some sort of score-- but anyway, a score is relative, or it's meaningless, and I don't have a tonne of things to directly compare to this. For now, it strikes me as extreme or blackened death metal, with weird eccentricities and talented guitarists. Cool! More listening, I'll be back in a week or so...
