Black metal, like The Abyss, and like Immortal; but louder and more distorted than either.
And how convenient, as I recently heard The Abyss again, and have been digging up some other stuff that sounds like them, or includes their former members... I like their sound. And of course, I enjoy Immortal a lot. And besides, "louder" may be just the result of more modern gear, compared to that of those aforementioned groups.
But this is German. And seems to be sung in English German.(I think it's German).
2020 - thick, noxious, intense black metal, heavy, rumbling with anger and gloom; almost too much distortion everywhere, very early (track #1, maybe 2 & 3 also), unless it's the way they intended it - but it sounds overloaded a bit, with both the bass drums plus the guitars. Now it seems to have been tempered just slightly, further into the album. I'm listening right now. There are some cows. I think those were cows.
Need to hear the next album, and compare the sound between the two, for a better idea what they are supposed to sound like. I really like this 2020 music; just not sure yet about the sound. It could be my environment too.
I'm back:
2025 - a little bit of background synth, which I don't recall during the 2020 album; maybe I just didn't notice it (yes, I relisten, and there's synth in 2020). It adds a not bad bit of epicness here and there. 2025, not so heavily distorted all-around; there's guitar distortion, buzzy, but the overall sound doesn't seem quite so overloaded. Percussion is heavy and otherwise black-metally.
Net result: I really like the music, but will hear both albums several more times before voting. Score will be decent. I prefer 2025 over 2020; it's livelier, it's energetic, and has nicer sound, though it's thick and aggressive. But nicer notwithstanding anything & everything, nonetheless. And 2025 has (more) cool lead guitar solo work too. Brief but good.
Thank you, vaniaradi; Germany pleases us with their black metal again.
Thanks!
