Lights out , Only you can rock me ?

RIGHT ON BRO!  THE MOST UNDERATTED HARD ROCK BAND OF THE 70's WITHOUTTT A DOUBTT!  From Phenomenonttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt, No Heavy Pettting, tthe essential FORCE IT, and LIGHTS OUT AND OBSESSION SHOULD HAVE PUT TTHEM ON TTOP...BEYOND ZEP< AEROSMITH< (Except ROCKS) GAVE US REAL MUSIC, not condescending crap like SCORPIONS, EVERT MEMBER OF THE BAND (WERE STELLAR PLAYERS WITH STAGE PRESENCE AAND ICONINC SONGS THAT STILL HOLD UP!  Shenker was schooled welll in the art of being THE most INCREDIBLE, calculated, melodic with the ability to SHRED FASTER than anyone in tttttttttttttttthat tplace and time of well written memorable songs that they coould actually play better LIVE!  Strangers In The Night is INCREDIBLE, tthe BEST LIVE ROCK ALBUM, PERIOD.  Andy PARKER drew so heavily from Bonham, and he deserved tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttto be held in high regard. Thank god Paul Raymond joined replacing Denny Penroyal on keys, plus great guitar playing and ttbacking vocals. NOW!  WHAT CAB YOU SAY ABOUT PETE WAY, playing the bass like a true lover of a TRUE BELIEVR in ROCK AND ROLL, his place in the band, and...CONSISTTENTTT powerful pperformances being a consumate showman, and the only man to ever outdrink Bon Scott.  Everytime my fellow UFO brothers and I got a chance, we'd make it to Way's side of the stage, where he would have a generous supply of Cups filled with "RUM" (and coke). He'd find us and hand them out saying "SHARE!  SHARE!" which was fucking awesome, because all rhose shows were so packed we couldn't get a drink if we tried.  Top it off with the classiestt frontman with incredibly professional stage presence and CONFIDENCE that demanded respect. . I NEVER SAW SHENKER perform with them, but I hadn't realized Paul Chapman  was an incredible fast shredder, playing in the moment, without the disciplined dynamics Shenker used to take his time, then blow you away. , but (I've even talked to Chapman about this after a show) that it must SUCK to fill Shenkers shoes, to which he replied he really didn't give a shit.  To be honest, I didn't either.  With Shenker dodging gigs, the negative vibe about the band seemed to grow.  They begain to start "Letting Go" as the first track from George Martin produced "No Place To Run" clearly states., which marked a turning point (Losing GENIUS PRODUCER RON NEVISON took their POWER away as each album seemed to be making compromises, playing 50's cover tunes, adding SAXOPHONES and horrible songs aimed at mainstream radio just like Aerosmith was forced to do, in 92 after signing with Geffen.  TRULY if UFO had any credibilitty left it was because they never did anything as GOD AWFUL as "Dude Looks Like A Lady" or any other Desmond Child buzzkill songs!  Back  in those days we BELIEVED if a band as GOOD as UFO didn't make it, they'd get it on the next one.  I myself am a Rock musician.  I guess that's why I admire them and clearly see what SHOULD have happened, but never quite did.  I want to blame Michael, but without him, they would not have been , well, the post- "Boogie" band worthy of being called a PHENOMENON. with the same artists at "Hypnosis" making their album covers to hold your attention like a rock video until tthe songs crept into your soul.   So.  for those who missed their best years, it's a shame the size of never hearing  Zepellin's first records.  OK, add the idiots who thought a name like "UFO" was just too CRAZY for them,(But were probably OK with "THE BEE GEES" and "Culture Club").  The first time I saw them in 1978, in the bible belt ignorance known as "SPRINGFIELD, MO, where ALL OF OUR UFO buddies from -YUK-WEST PLAINS found one another in the audience full of cowboy hats and looks of disgust at this "PUNK" band that dare waste their time before "The Outlaws" came out,(and sucked out loud, BTW) and we rushed to the front of the stage and the band members all rushed over to play TO US DIRECTLY,until of course the "rockkill patrol escorted us back to our proper seats...I got a Super  8mm reel of that which we would watch when we partied. (That's when my guitarist said, "Thats not Shenker, he's blond!"  WHO CARES!!!  Thus endeth the sad story of UFO.  If you agree with what I'm saying, I'm preaching to the choir.  If you stopped reading during the first line, you probably srill listen to ....ummm...Never mind.  You can't help it.  Thank you, UFO for kicking ass for as long as you did.  Shenker, I Love you, but...DAMNIT!  Oh yeah, Pete!  Would Bon still be with us if it hadn't been for that fateful night of celebrating the successs of "Highway To Hell"?  THIS ELECTRIC PHASE-AINT NOOOOO TEENAGE CRAZE!  - well.  pack it up and Go!  You can always come to my place and sleep on the couch!  Love to Love U. F.O=
