The grinding, pounding blackness is nice; pleasant heaviness but also clarity in this music -- and the pace is varied, from tranquil atmospheric & doomy to quick & heavy. Sinister odd chords & riffs from guitars keep the atmosphere creepy; and the distortion is not overwhelming. Percussion is talented, solid & perfect -- clear, yet can rumble the floor.
This album (or this group) has a particularly nice sound. The music in my estimation is a novel blend of gloomy black metal and technical death, somewhat unique with its seamless shifting from one to the other, along with changing tempos and complex song arrangements. Very interesting music by talented musicians. An example of black death metal not to be missed !!
